Turned NYC head by 1996, East Coast legend and Skateboarding OG Spencer Fujimoto ( @spencerfujimoto ) with a nollie half cab heel or an alley-oop nollie heel over the planter at the Brooklyn Banks back in the summer of 1997. #1 Where were you born and bred? / where were you living in the time of this photo?
- I was conceived in NYU student housing, born in a suburb of Detroit. Bred in the Bay… Lafayette, San Jose, Santa Clara, Berkeley, SF. At the time of the photo I was living in Astoria/LIC Queens NYC, I moved to NY in ‘96 w/ only a skate bag… I stayed at my aunty/uncle’s in the UES for 3 months until I got my basement apartment for $350 a month… I think this pic was published if it was probably ‘98. Although it was most likely shot in ‘97. I am thinking ‘97 because the board I am riding in the pic says ‘97 on the graphics 🙏🏽 it's my 1st board from American Dream.

it’s a Sammy Glucksman pic… ( @sdj ) honestly I have no memory, nothing from that day… that was one of my warm up tricks there… all I can remember is I loved those sneakers, an rocked the shit out of those DC shorts that summer…it looks like a hot & humid day for sure…
